Do you procrastinate? I do.. sometimes..

Procrastinating… gotta have the right 🎶song. What’s your motivation? I’d like to know what you do to get out the door. Is it hard sometimes? I’m sure it is cause it is for all of us. What gets you there when you’re stuck? What thoughts go thru your head? Lately I’m hearing a lot of deferring to diet.. ‘it’s the key to weight loss’. Wait, what’s up with the exercise part? Why aren’t these programs working? And frankly I see them getting worse not better… less effective.. actually horrible.. too hard, too fast and furious before people are ready. The key is both: 100% what you eat, 100% HOW you exercise. Period. Because the HOW you move is KEY to getting results, making your exercise routine truly work and shape your body, and cause those 10, 20 lbs to come of once and for all. 👉I know how to do this whether you’re 25, 35, 46, or 60. I have clients all of these ages. Actually one of my fittest clients is 90😳! She’s the bomb!! 👉I am driven to do this for you. I love it!!This career is my passion and has been all my life. Let’s go do this together.. the right way! #justdoit #dontthinkjustgo #boom #imhalfwaythere #flashingfowardtofeelingenergized #mindgames #fitness #fitnessmotivation #goals #staylean #staystrongsoicandoanything #staystrongeveryone #elsegundo #manhattanbeach #hermosabeach #playavistaca #losangeles #dtla #google #oursouthbay #latimes #fitover60 #becauseisaidiwould

A little Tamu, a little beach, a little red tailed hawk.. all before and after a little workout. To me it’s all about lifestyle, don’t you think? One healthy thing leads to another.. and another, every day. Believe in yourself. (I still work on that every single day). It simply snowballs in a positive direction. And I believe being truly healthy encompasses appreciating all of nature, and animals, in addition to lovely food as well as and of course physical activity. The physical activity doesn’t always have to be about intensity, weight, looks (I still get pretty carried away with that part.. I’m working on not doing that as much), how much weight you lift (never been an emphasis for me), trends, diets (NOT), fancy equipment, muscles, what you wear (I really should throw out some of my stuff😳), or being in a fancy room or building or around beautiful people doing it. I think sometimes people miss the point. Get outside sometimes! Be casual about how you look (‘cause really no one cares)! Lose the makeup! Throw you hair in a ponytail! Run out the door without thinking if you’ve got 20 minutes! Lose the headphones and hear the wind or the birds or the ocean.. or, heaven forbid, your thoughts as they turn POSITIVE! Grab an apple for the road for afterwards! Just splash off your face with water! Shower later! 👉The big reward is: feeling good instantly. ✅done. Mark it off on your calendar. Leaner. Stronger. Clearer. Problems feel solved. Happier💫 . . #awesome #happysunday #lovelife #weareallconnected #nature #animalsrule #catsofinstagram #stayhealthy #stayfit #healthylifestyle #elsegundo #playavista #manhattanbeach #hermosabeach #sanfrancisco #losangeles #redondobeach #personaltrainer #nutritioncoach #leadership #leaders #latimes #dtlaweekly #becauseisaidiwould

One medicine ball is sometimes all you need for a great workout!

View this post on Instagram

All it sometimes takes for a great workout is one, simple, medicine ball… and great 🎶 of course! All of the talk lately is about food hence I’ve been posting a lot of ideas for little ‘meals’. (I keep it in quotes because ‘meal’ to me implies a lot of food which makes me full just thinking about it). So, it’s time once again to talk a bit about weight workouts, one of the KEYS to getting and keeping fit and being able to do all of the fun things you want to do. I’m talking about medicine balls, dumbbells, bars, pulleys, body weight, etc., light, heavier, … 👉My thing is this: it is SUPER important to know what you’re working and why, the reason for the sequence, reps, weights, choices of the exercises, and have good form doing it. The only way that you can know this is to know anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, or you risk: a. getting hurt (it’s not often instant and it can take time for repetitive movements to injure you.. badly) b. wasting your time and getting zero results, and running back to the ‘I’ll just watch my food’ attempt. Have you heard people say that? So, what do you do if you’re not sure about proper form? And please, there’s so much crazy s**t out there on social media. I must CAUTION you! It make look good, and the girl or guy doing it may look fantastic, but that doesn’t make it safe for YOU. If you decide to hire a personal trainer, ask for their credentials/bio. A 4 year degree in a related field would be ideal and at least 8-10 years of experience especially with so many quick, easy certs out there. Heck, what I thought I knew when I was a 22 year old ‘trainer’ and what I know now?! Night and day. Remember, I said this in a prior post, I thought I was SO cool that I could watch TV while sitting in the splits, and also do them in front of a class when no one else could… in my 20’s. A lot of good that did!! (2 hip surgeries later). Looks, posts.. draw us in.. to a fitness program, but do a little research behind the program. This is what motivated me to post a long story like this. I’m passionate about people feeling great, being happy, and getting what they want out of a fitness program. Are we in this together? 🙏

Looking back on our July trip to…October! Can’t get enough of these photos, can you? i❤️Cascade’s beauty. It’s spiritual. PS I gotta say that for me workout pics are so boooring. I’d rather post pics of the things we all can do as a result of our workouts. Also, the specific movements you do need to be specific to YOU, your abilities, injury history, limitations, goals, etc. SO that’s why I’m not wild about you taking my movements that I may post for myself and do them randomly on your own. Make sense? PSS I’m gonna say this .. please pay extra CAUTION to movements of extreme flexibility. VERY TRENDY now. (yoga.. crazy sometimes. There I said it). Here’s why: In my 20’s I thought I was SO cool because I was able to do the splits. I used to make tapes (yes, tapes) of music for my classes sitting in the splits with my chest on the floor. (I still collect music/make playlists. Always have. Always will!) Follow that up with whipping a 9.0 McTavish and a 10.0 Boss longboard around (you do that with your hips) and the result? 2 metal hips. Am I good? 💯percent. What metal?! Haha. 👉DM me for specific exercises and workouts that are perfect for YOU.. ‘cause I’m really good at that😊 . . #stayingfitforeverythingrocks #fitover60 #strengthtraining #endurancetraining #plantbaseddiet #lifeisbeautiful #natureisbeautiful #letspreservenature #letssaveanimals #purpose #goals #latimes #elsegundo #manhattanbeach #hermosabeach #playavista #dtlaweekly #meaningfullife 🙌🌱🐾💚

This weather is SO tropical.. I LOVE it! I know it’s sticky/humid, and were all sweating more than usual, and it’s been hot, but are you letting that interfere with your workouts? I hope not. It’s just not worth skipping, getting out of shape, losing muscle tone, feeling sluggish, low energy, etc. Then struggling to get back in the swing of things.. yuck. Not fun don’t you think?Just get out there, stop your mind in it’s tracks from saying, ‘Well.. I don’t really feel like it today, do I? It’s too hot.. should I do it or.. hmm. Do I have time?’ Just GO, think strong, crank it out, and always flash forward (I do when I hesitate) to how you’ll feel when you’re done. It’s awesome, right?!! *Please don’t think for one minuto (my Paramount clients in Latin TV sales used to say this) that you need to be fit to start training with me. Not a chance! My clients range in age from 25-90, are not fit to very fit to knee problem to foot, back problem.. SO jump int! DM me anytime* I’m writing this because a super client of ours @area44fitness surprised me the other day and told me ‘You keep me going.. your posts’. I had no idea. Thanks to that special guy.😊That makes it all worth it. That’s why I rack my brain to say the right things, at the right time, to hopefully inspire you guys to take such good care of yourselves, everyday, in every way. 👉What do you think?
